Lyons) annual report reveals that money and valuables to the amount of £IBO,OIB were found in postal articles sent ’to the Dead Letter Office as undelivered in the 1928-29 financial year and as many as 39.43 a articles were posted without addresses. The telephone figures showed substantial progress. AVith an average of 7.93 phones per 100 people Australia is now sixth on the list of countries in order of telephone density. A proft of £50,524 was shown a» the year's transactions.
