ADDINGTON MARKET. HEAVY YARDING. With the exception of that for store lambs, the yardings in all the major sections at Addington were large ones. Store sheep and store lambs sold at prices equal to late rates, but store sheep sold irregularly and there seemed a general lack of confidence in present values. Fat cattle values fell for all classes by up to £1 a head over a very , patchy sale. Fat sheep also eased by up to is, a head. The market for fat lambs was a fair one, the average price per lb being from 7d to Bd. Store Lambs.—A smaller entry, and quality very uneven. Values were; Extra good 2-tooth Romney ewes 30s to 325, good to 28s, medium to 245, cull 2tooth to 17s Gd, good 4, 6 and 8tooth Romney ewes to 25s 6d, ordinary 20s to 21s 6d, sound mouth to 17s, extra good 2-tooth f-bred ewes 30s to 325, good to 28s, ordinary to 21s, ordinary 4, 6 and 8-tooth quar-ter-bred ewes 16s to 17s, ordinary 4 and 6-tooth lo 21s, sound mouth ibred ewes 13s to 15s, medium 2-tooth halfbred ewes 20s to 22s 9d, ordinary 4, 6 and 8-tooth ewes 15s to 17s 6d, ordinary 4 and 6-tooth ew 7 es to 13s, aged halfbred ewes 6s to Bs, cull 2tooth crossbred ewes to 15s, Merino ewes to 4s 3d, medium 4-tooth halfbred wethers to 17s, ordinary 2-tooth halfbred withers 11s to 12s Gd, ordinary 6 and 8-tooth Romney withers to 11s. Fat Lambs. —There was a yarding of 2180 fat lambs. More than half the yarding consisted of light and unfinished lambs. The sale w 7 as a fairly satisfactory one, and on an average values w 7 ere very little below 7 those of last week. The average price per lb was 7d to Sd. Values w 7 ere: Extra prime lambs to 29s 4d, prime lambs 24s to 275, medium lambs 20s 'Gd to 23s 6d, light lambs 17s Gd to 20s, Fat Sheep.—About 4000 fat sheep were penned, including more from outside the province. Again the average quality was not up to standard. Following the decline in values at the last two sales, a further easing was apparent. This was up to Is a head over all. Values were: Extra prime withers Jo 32s 7d, prime 26s Gd to 28s, medium 23s Gd to 265, light 19s to 235, extra prime ewes to 22s Id, prime 18s Gd to 20s, medium 15s 6d to 18s„ light aud aged 11s to 14s 6d. Fat Cattle.—There w 7 ere 500 head offered, which Is a long way above the recognised requirements. The quality w 7 as also very poor on an average. Competition was exceptionally dull, and there were numerous passings. Values recorded a decline for all classes of up to £1 a head, steers suffering to the greatest extent. Best medium weight prime beef made from 39s to 41d 6d per 1001 b, medium quality from 32s Gd to 36s 6d, heavy steer beef from 32s Gd to 375, good cow beef 29s to 335, secondary 23s to 275, light and rough dow r n to 21s. Values were: Extra heavy prime steers to £2O 2s Gd, heavy £ls 5s to £lB, medium weight £l3 to £ls 10s, ordinary £9 10s to £l2 10s, light £7 10s to £9 ss, extra prime heifers to £l4 12s Gd, prime £lO lOs to £l2 10s, ordinary £7 15s to £lO, light £5 10s to £7 ss, store cows £l6 12s 6d, extra prime to £l4 2s 6d, prime £lO to £l2, medium £7 5s to £9 10s, light and aged £4 10s to £7. Vealers. —A small entry and the quality was very poor. Values eased by about 5s a 'head over all. The top price w 7 as £7 18s 6d. Dairy Cattle.—An average entry. The sale opened at rates 30s below those of last w 7 eek and there was little improvement over the remainder of the sale. Values w 7 ere: Good second and third calvers £l2 to £l4, others £4 to £ll, good heifers £l2 to £l3 10s, others £7 15s to £ll 10s. Store Cattle. —A medium entry, with only a few 7 straight lines offering. Prices were a little easier and passings were numerous. Bulls brought up to £l4. Fat Pigs.—A large offering. Porkers declined in value slightly, as also did baconers. Values were: Choppers £3 to £7, porkers 47s to £3 3s 6d, average price per lb 8d to B|d; baconers £3 8s Gd to £5 6s 6d, average price per lb 6Jd to 7d. Store Pigs.—A medium entry and it met with fair competition. Values eased a little in sympathy with the drop in fat pig values. Values were: Large stores 36s to 435, medium to small 30s to 355, slips 24s to 26s Gd, weaners 16s to 21s, inferior weaners 9s Gd to 14s 6d.
