FRANKTON SCHOOL.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. At the monthly meeting of the frankton School Committee there were present;—Messrs Fredric (chairman), Iloadley, Ogilvie, Hayward, Bary, Gilmore, Ilalcrow, Kilham, Lee (secretary) ; also Dir Sheppard, headmaster. The chairman welcomed the new committee man, Mr H. H. Hoadlcy. In his report the headmaster stated that the average attendance was 416, and the roll number 466. Valuable instruction bad been given to a largo number of pupils during Hie leam-to-swim” week by various instructors, including Professor Richardson and Miss Prince. Notification has been received from the Education Board that the services o: the supernumerary teacher may be retained until. further notice. _ The work in connection with topdressing the grounds, and parade has been completed, and the removal ol one of the shelter sheds to a new position has made a great improvement to the school surroundings. Accounts amounting to £l7 2s 8d were passed for payment. The hank balance was declared at £l7 18s Bd. It was resolved to hold a schojl picnic on March 28, to Te Aroha. A special train will leave Franklin Junction at 8.15 a.m.
