Dr. F. D. Pinfold had the misfortune to have his valuable imported ■white Sealyham terrier “Hadley Podges" killed on Friday last. The dog was crossing the road in front of the doctor's" house when a motor car ran over it. The motorist continued on his way without stopping. The dog was one of four from the famous Hadley kennels, England, and they cost £2OO to land in New Zealand. On Iho death being reporled lo .Mrs Pinfold she got a description of the car and entering her own car traced the culprit to Ngaruawahia. As a result the driver of the car, the same evening called on Dr. Pinfold and tendered his apologies for the mihshap and for failing to stop.
