COST OF EDUCATION
BRITISH ESTIMATES. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel.—Copyright LONDON, March 9. The education estimates total £45,495,653, an increase of £3,809,7 5 4. A memorandum slates that £2,123,754 of the increase is due to the development and normal growth of the education services. The remaining £1,686,000 is attributable to changes in the financial arrangement consequent on the local Government Act of 1929. The present cost of elementary education per child is £l3 Os 6d. The average attendance at the public elementary schools is 4,890,000.
