TYLEE—RUTHERFORD. A wedding was solemnised at Knox Church, Masterton, on Tuesday evening- last, when Marion, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Rutherford, of Pownall Street, Masterton, was married to Charles Basil, second son of Mrs W. E. C. Tylee, of Makuri, and the late Mr. Tylee. Tne ceremony was performed by the Rev. John Davie, Miss 11. Rosewarne presiding at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of white marietta lace studded with diamante over a shell pink slip. The threeflounced skirt had alternating lace and mariette with a large bow of soft pink silk at the side. The uneven hemline almost reached the ground at the back. A beautifully embroidered veil and a bouquet of white carnations and pink roses completed the toilette. The bridesmaids were Miss Madge Carrick (chief), Misses Erena Tylee, Kathleen Oliver (Hamilton), Elva'Cool, Betty Gill and Vida Rutherford. Their frocks were of sweet pea shades of mariette, two wearing pale pink, two lavender and two- lettuce green, made with three-flounced skirts long at the 'back. They wore hats of soft felt trimmed with diamante to tone with their frocks. The best man was Mr J. Shackleton (Pahiatua) and the groomsmen were Messrs Alec Rutherford, Trevor Rutherford, Jack Lawrence, Maurice Perry and Bob Perry. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Ranfurly Club, Mrs Rutherford receiving her guests in a frock of wine coloured georgette and lace with hat to tone. Her bouquet- was of autumn tints. Mrs Tylee, mother of the bridegroom, wore a frock of black georgette with steel trimmings and a black hat. The reception room was decorated with blue hydrangeas, the wedding group standing under a large wedding bell. The bride’s travelling dress was a fawn ensemble suit with hat to tone. ELLIOTT—DREW. The marriage was solemnised at St. Matthew’s Church, Auckland, by the Rev. Canon Grant Cowen on Thursday evening, March 6, between Dorothy, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs C. Drew, Kingsland, and Jack, eldest- son of Mr and Mrs A. Elliott, River Road, Hamilton. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father wore a lovely gown of cream satin and ivory georgette, fashioned with a pointed skirt." The embroidered veil was held by a cluster of orange blossom, which formed a train and she carried ft shower bouquet of roses, lilies and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended as bridesmaids by her sister, who wore a frock of green georgette over satin, and the bridegroom's sister, who wore apricot georgette. Roth wore caps to tone in tulle and silver. Little Beth McNeice, the flower girl, wore a pretty frock of wisteria crepe de chine. The groom was attended by bis cousin, Mr R. Stewart, of Birkenhead, as best man. After the ceremony Mr and Mrs j Drew received the guests at The Far- j mers’ Tea Rooms, where a most enjoyable time was spent. The bride’s j mother wore an ensemble in black satin and black hat. The bridegroom’s mother wore a fawn ensemble of georgette and lace, with hat to tone.
