John King, who escaped when being taken to prison on Alarch 6, has been re-arrested. When starving and ill he called at a homestead near Tamworth and was persuaded to give himself up. King, a prisoner who was being escorted to Tamworth Prison, made a spectacular escape from his guard when the train was travelling at about 40 miles an hour near Tamworth. He broke a window and leapt out on to the rails. The escorting constable, in attempting lo stop King burst through a glass partition door, and severely cut one of his arms.
