KIRKWOOD, THE GOLFER
DROPS A BOMBSHELL. NO PLAY TO CHEAP GALLERY. demands a fixed guarantee. United Press Assn.—Elec:. Tel.—Cop^lgHt. (Received March 10, 2.a0 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 10. The Killara Golf Club officials have received a bombshell in the foim of an ultimatum from Kirkwood that he will not play to a cheap gallery. He savs the price of admission was originally 10s. and was reduced to live without consultation. • Kirkwood and Ilagen were billed to play an exhibition match on "Wednesday but the former's truculent attitude is likely to upset the programme. He demands a guarantee of a fixed sum and complains that if the people cannot afford 10s to see the worlds best players after they have dropped thousands of dollars to come here, then those people should not expect such a treat. . The fact that the Killara Club is one of the elite of the city makes the exAustralian’s outburst, more amusing in the public eyes. The club’s object in lowering the price was to give the greatest numner of enthusiasts a chance of seeing the champions m action. __
