FIGHT WITH RUM RUNNERS
BATTLE ON LAKE ERIE. ILLICIT TRADER CAPTURED. BIG CARGO SECURED. United Press Assn.—Elec Tel.—CopvrlgU. (Received March 10, 10.30 a.m ) NEW YORK, March 9. A grim battle between a steel armoured runabout and a coastguard ** cutter on Lake Erie ended with the capture of a rum boat and its crew ol two men. During the battle the cutter was rammed in the middle, and one rumrunner was critically wounded when the ship was fired upon by the coastguard. A one-pounder gun and rifles were captured. The ship, a 65-foot vessel, allegedly contained 1600 cases of beer anti whisky.
