CONVERSION LOANS. STATEMENT BY CHANCELLOR. United Press Assn.— Elec. Tei.—-nowrlirtu. LONDON, March 6. In the House of Commons Mr Philip Snowden, Chancellor of the Exchequer, said the amount of new conversion loan issued for cash was £155,325,000, and by the conversion of 54 per cent. Treasury bonds £3O 372,000. In addition £33,500,000 worth of war loan (1929-47) has been converted into the new conversion loan.
