LONDON, March 7. ■ Counsel for the prosecution announced that as the police had failed to recover the body of Griffin, the missing Galway policeman, they wished to withdraw the charges against the ton prisoners, who were then discharged. Wild sqenes followed, the friends of the prisoners not even waiting till - they left the dock to hug and embrace them. Laurence Griffin, a policeman, of Galway mysteriously disappeared. Ten persons were arrested and charged with the murder, but as the body, has not been recovered the authorities were unable to prove that a crime had been committed. It was alleged that the body had been sewn in a blanket and deposited in a' disused shaft. A diver descended, but reported that the work of exploration was too dangerous, and the search , was abandoned.
