MEETING ON APRIL 5.

NOMINATIONS BY MARCH 18. Everything is now well forward for the Autumn meeting of the Waikato -Club, whicli will be held at the Club’s course at 'Claudelands, Hamilton, on Saturday, April 5. The programmes have been In the hands of -owners and trainers for some time -and there promise to be good nominations. The Waikato Handicap, which will be the leading event for the, coming occasion, will be decided over two miles. The limit is 4.38. To- the owner of the winner will go £3OO and a trophy valued at £SO. The latter, which is being donated by the -president (Mr H. W. Burch) and Mrs Burch, is a handsome cabinet of cutlery and an outstanding trophy of Its kind, which owners will be eager to become possessed of. Therefore the coming race will have added interest. Sprinters will .be catered for at the coming meeting "by the Waipa Handicap of £2OO, one mile, with a 2.19 limit, while the best class of trotters will contest the Members’ Handicap of £2OO, two miles, with a 4.48 limit-. Nominations for all events will close with the. secretary (Mr T. G.

Reynolds), at Hamilton, or with Messrs Blomfleld and Go,, Auckland-, at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18. THE THAMES CLUB. MEETING ON MARCH 29. Tho next meeting on tho circuit is that of the Thames Club, which will he held at tho Parawai course on Saturday, March 29. This is one of the most popular fixtures on the circuit and tho nature of the nomination list for the coming gathering ensures that good fields will he paraded for the various races. The handicaps for the fixture are due ; to make their appearance on or about Friday, March 14, while acceptances will close with the secretary (Mr. E. 0. Brownlee) or with Mr. R. L. Absolum, secretary, Otahuhu Trotting Club, Auckland on Friday, March 21, at 5 p.m.
