WEDDINGS

FORSTER—HAYES. The wedding took place at St. Peter's Cathedral on Monday last, when Ruth Bronwyn, fourth daughter of Mr and Mrs G. H. Hayes, of Frankton, was married to Victor Edward, only son of Mr and the late Mrs E. Forster, of Ngaruawahia. The Rev. Dean Barnett officiated. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father to the strains of the Wedding March, wore a frock of Dale salmon georgette over crepe-de-chirie with a plain bodice and uneven line. A coronet of orange blossoms with side clusters, held in place the pink Brussels net veil. She carried a shower bouquet of white and pink flowers with asparagus fern.

In attendance as bridesmaids were Misses Violet Hayes, sister of Pie bride, and May Johnston, niece of the bridegroom, wearing pretty frocks of hyacinth blue and primrose crepe-de-chine respectively. Both wore headdresses of silver leaves and flowers to tone with frocks. The two little flower girls, Lily Richardson and Norma Styles, nieces of the bride, wore wistaria and leaf green crepe-de-chine frilled frocks with little ribbon head-dresses and posies. Mr Walter Rayson was best man,

and Mr Thomas Henry was groomsman. The bride’s travelling suit was a tweed coat-frock of green and l'awn, and hat to tone, with a light grey and fawn summer tweed coat and grey fox fur, the gift of tire bridegroom. Tie wedding breakfast was held at the •home of the bride's sister, Mrs Richardson. The honeymoon is being spent touring the South. DONOVAN —CLEVELY. The marriage was solemnised at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Claudelands, by the Rev. 11. G. Gilbert, on ’the afternoon of March 1, between Gladys, second daughter of Mr and Mrs G. Clevely, of Claudelands, and Ainsworth Donovan, second son of Mr and Mrs F. Donovan, of Hamilton. The bride, who given away by her father, wore a charming frock of ivory georgette, hand-painted in silver and pastel shades. It was fashioned with a close-fitting bodice and uneven hemline, and the embroidered tulle veil was held by a chaplet of orange blossom. She carried a bouquet- of white lilies, carnations and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids were the Misses Coralie and Phyllis Clevely, sisters of the bride, and the flower girl was Bonnie Peace, neice of the groom. Miss Coralie Clevely wore a frock of coral pink georgette, and Miss Phyllis Clevely leaf green georgette. The frocks were fashioned alike, with close-fitting bodices and full skirts, hemmed with tulle and embroidered in. silver. Hats were worn to tone with the frocks, and shower bouquets were carried.

The groom was attended by Air E. Gully, of Masterton, as best man and Mr Wilmott, of Hamilton, as groomsman.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the Wattle tea rooms, where Mr and Mrs Clevely received their guests.' Mrs Clevely was wearing a charming gown of georgette and lace, with a delphinium blue satin coat, and hat to tone. She carried a posy of blue delphiniums. The bridegroom’s mother wore a suit of biege salin with hat, to tone, and a posy of flowers.

Mr and Mrs A. Donovan left by car for the wedding trip, which will be spent touring. The bride’s travelling suit was of tailored wedgewood blue tweed, with hat to tone. They will make their future home in Hamilton.
