KITCHEN EVENING

at glen afton. On Thursday evening a kitcheo evening was held in the Glen Afton Hall. It was organised by the Women's Institute, assisted by local talent, and was given for Miss K. Milner. About 100 were present. Miss Milner, being a general favourite in the district, the presents were numerous and useful. After a delightful supper the parcels were opened. One from the Women’s Institute contained a bridal edition of the De Luxe Cookery Book. The bridegroom-elect very, feelingly' replied, thanking all present for the many' useful gifts. Songs, dancing and competilions were enjoyed till midnight, and the entertainment terminated by singing “ Auld Lang Syne.” Mr A. .Black was a very efficient M.C. The motor wedding competition was won by Miss Dorothy Hunter and Mr. Monty Weiger.' Songs were rendered by Mrs Baxter (humorous), Mrs. J. Henderson. Mrs. Ball, and Miss Cameron, who had to respond to an encore.
