SWIMMING SPORTS

HAMILTON HIGH BOYS. SOME SPLENDID PERFORMANCES. 'The Hamilton High School boys annual swimming sports were held this morning in the Municipal Baths before a large gallery of spectators and in perfect weather. The High boys aquatic sports have always been of a very high order and this year’s occasion was no exception. All arrangements ran smoothly and the handicapping was exceptionally even, all the events proving exciting finishes. The three placed competitors in each race were awarded points towards the “Norman Ross” Challenge Gup, for the Form championship and each competitor striving to win the coveted trophy for his form gave of his best. The Form championship result is not availbale at present as the junior dive has not been judged. The events for the junior and senior championships were closely contested and the spectators witnessed some excellent swimming. The winners of these cups have not yet been announced but all competitors displayed talent and the keen rivalry added further interest to the sports. In the senior dive some beautiful dives were seen, R. Carde, the winner, giving a great display. The Corfu dive was an interesting event and one competitor created much merriment by coming up through the tube feet first and then turning over and popping up head first when the tube was not far away. 'The Form relay was the most exciting race of the day. Form 3 A touching first and 3B and the 6th in the following places. The event, Which usually creates the most interest is the Old Boys .v.
