THE CAFFERY CASE.
APPEAL AGAINST SENTENCE. AUCKLAND, Wednesday. An appeal has been lodged by Mr Dickson, who defended George Caffery on a charge of murder of Thomas Levy by stabbing in August, against a sentence of 12 years’ hard labour on a count of manslaughter. Caffery, who is aged 34, Is a quarter-caste negro.
