FAREWELL CONCERT.
TO LEADING HAMILTON ARTIST. LEAVING FOR SYDNEY. A well attended meeting was held last evening in the Theatre Royal, under the auspices of the Hamilton Operatic Society, when a proposal to tender a farewell concert to Mrs. Fred. Booth, who will leave for Sydney on December 28th to further her musical studies at the conservatorium, was enthusiastically taken up. Mr. A. E. Bouillon, president of the Operatic Society, who presided, stated that the proposal had come from several sources, and it was felt that it i would be a fitting and graceful action to one who had given fully and freely of her talents In assisting every deserving object. Mrs. Booth’s work as a member of' the Operatic Society could not be too highly spoken of. Personally he was very much in favour of the proposal. Messrs. H. Piper and W. Blythe supported the suggestion, it being unanimously decided to hold an entertainment in the Town Hall on Thursday, December 12. Mr. Piper undertook to arrange the entertainment, which he said would be of a high standard. He mentioned that the Operatic Society’s orchestra, which was a feature of “Gipsy Love," would be available, and altogether a fine programme would be presented. .
