Earl Jellicoe, ex-Governor-Gener, of New Zealand, will celebrate hk 70til birthday to-day. Sir Charles Fergusson, the present GovernorGeneral will attain bis 65th birthday on January 17. Lord Blodisloe, Governor-General designate, is 62 years of age. Should there be an interregnum between the departure of the Gover-nor-General (Sir Charles Fergusson) and the arrival of his successor (Lord Bledisloe) the duties of Acting-Gov-crnor-General will devolve upon the Chief Justice (Hon. M. Myers). Viscount and Lady Craigavon left Hamilton this morning for the Waitomo Caves. , Messrs. P. C. Minns (Auckland) and ,T. G. Dakin (Otago) were selected today as the Rhodes Scholars for the Dominion. Grand Central Hotel guests include Col. G. Smith (Christchurch), Messrs 11. J. Soles, V/. E. Edwards (Wellington), E. Edwards, B. E. Fife, L. Mitchell, A. Eventon, E. F. Wilson, P. Carter, W. Meiltle (Auckland). The Rev. G. E. Moreton, of Dunedin, has been appointed to the position of prison chaplain and asslstantcity missioncr on the staff of >he Auckland City Mission. He has resigned from his position in the Dunedin City Mission, and his appointment will lake effect early in the new year. Messrs 11. F. Beck, M. MacGarlane (Christchurch), A. J. Dean, W. A. Shrubsall, 11. J. Durwood, G. F. Keene, J. Austin (Auckland), A. Patience, A. Hall (Wellington), J. L. Asden (Kahuna), are at the' Hamilton Hotel. Tno Rev. J. E. Draper, of Opolikf, has been appointed vicar of the parish of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Auckland, in succession to the Rev. G. Gordon Bell, who has been tpCamhridge, and Archdeacon of Wadkata.
