The match between the English cricketers and New South Wales was continued this morning. On Friday New South Wales had made 453 for five wickets and took the score to 629 for eight wickets, when the innings was declared closed. England opened their flrst innings, and had made 171 for three when stumps were drawn. The weather was perfect. There were 22,443 spectators, and the takings were' £1924. The home team made its score in 420 minutes, and the young New South Wales side put up a meritorious performance. Six howlers were tried in the morning. Two English Players Injured. Bowley, and later Barratt, had to leave the field owing to strains. Allsopp and McCabe scored at will, and made several boundary hits. Allsopp upon attaining his century was given a rousing cheer for his great display of shots. McCabe batted attractively throughout. The New South Wales innings was declared at 3 p.m.

England’s opening batsmen, Dawson and Uitligan, were freely barracked l’or slow scoring. Dawson was smartly caught in the slips by Hooker off Fairfax.
