TASMANIAN FARMERS
VISIT TO ASHBURTON. SUNDAY TRIPS OBJECTED TO. (By Telegraph.—-Press Association.) ASHBURTON, Friday. A lively discussion took place at a meeting of the Mid-Canterbury Executive of the Farmers’ Union over Ihe fact, that the Tasmanian farmers arc scheduled to spend only Sunday in this district, it is suggested that the visitors inspect the Government, experimental farm in the morning and motor through the country in the afternoon. Objection was raised to Sunday trips, a motion of protest being moved and seconded.
'The following motion was carried: “The executive regrets that the visit of the Tasmanian farmers is limited to Sunday only, and considers the following Monday should have been included in the time allocated for the stay in Ashburton."
