AFGHANISTAN AFFAIRS
FLIGHT OF BACHA-I-SAKAO SENTIMENT FAVOURS AMANULLAH. TREASURY CLEARED OF WEALTH (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian Press Association.) DELHI, Oct. 11. It is reported that Bacha-i-Sakao, the seif-proclaimed rebel King of Afghanistan, has fled to the Russian frontier, and that a majority of his officers were taken prisoner in the dramatic capture of Kabul. The treasury at the capital was cleared of its wealth by Bacha before his flight. There is evidence in Afghanistan and in the frontier towns of a stronger feeling in favour of the return of the ex-King, Amanullah. Prince Hayatulla Khan and Prince Abdul Majidjan, Amanullah’s brothers, who were reported to have been executed by Bacha, were found alive in Kabul.
