The woman Gloria McAllister, who recently asserted that she fell overboard from a steamer in tiie English Channel and swam ashore, admits that her story was a fabrication. Site confessed tiiat she was not an Australian, but a Lettish native; that she had recently been placed in a penitentiary, hut absconded and fell asleep on tiie beach. She was never in the water, and she concocted the whole story.
