THE FARMERS’ UNION.
“WOMEN’S DIVISION.” The Wanganui branch held a social afternoon on Wednesday, August 21, at which Mr and Mrs Heughan were the guests of honour. They are also holding a “Shop Day" on November 20, in order to augment the funds of the Division.
Some good organising work was done in Canterbury by the Otago and Southland delegates on their return journey home from conference. Meetings were called and branches were formed at Christchurch, Ashburton and Timaru. This is the first attempt that has been made to organise Canterbury and no doubt Ihe work being once established, will spread throughout ihc province. The usual monthly meeting of the Hamilton branch will be held on Friday, September oth., commencing at 12.30 p.m. when a large attendance of members is hoped for.
