A statistical review of Britain’s population for J f»2B was issued By the Registrar-General yesterday. This showed that the birth rate was 16.7 per 1000, the lowest recorded, with one exception, since the establishment of •civil registration. The death rate was 1 1.7 per iOOO. That, with two exceptions, was the lowest recorded.
