CANADIAN TREATY,
A RUINED INDUSTRY. TORY LEADER’S VIEW. (Australian Press Assn.—United Service.) (By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright.) VANCOUVER, Aug. 29. In closing a live weeks’ tour of British Columbia Mr R. B. Bennett, Leader of the Opposition, speaking at Fernie, again alleged that, the trade treaty with New Zealand had worked to the disadvantage of Canada. Mr Bennett said the treaty had destroyed the Canadian dairy industry, reduced the number of cows in tiie country, increased the price of meat, and made the Dominion' dependent on another country for its butter. The Conservatives would never be a party to a transaction or a treaty which would destroy any industry indigenous to Canada.
