GAY SCENES AT ALEXANDRA HALL

1 The staff of the Bank of New South 1 Wales held their annual dance last ' evening at the Alexandra. Hall. Mrs R. G. Guy was hostess and received the many guests, wearing a cha-rm--3 ing frock of myrtle green embossed georgette with cloth of gold 'coatee. The hall was attractively decorated 3 with fern fronds and streamers in shades of lavender, green, and primrose. Hildreth’s Orchestra played at one end of the room, from a trellised dais which was also decorated with ferns and streamers. A delicious sup--1 per was served and the tables pre- _ sented a very pretty scene, with 3 masses of daffodils, violets, anemones, and iceland poppies ! decorating them. An energetic ladies’ committee, Mrs G. Buckland, Mrs Peterson, Mrs Grut, Mrs Phillips, Mrs Morgan and Miss Sadie Wright had charge of the supper arrangements and are to be congratulated on the success of their preparations. Much credit is due to the a dance committee, Messrs W. Peterson, , N. Wright, E. East and 11. Hamilton, r for the organisation which has ma-de 3 the Bank of New South Wales staff t dance, one of the most popular of the - season. Among the many present were:— 2 Mrs G. Wright, phlox pink frilled georgette, embroidered in forget-me-not blue, and sash of blue taffeta. Miss A. Coventry, shrimp pink ring velvet. Mrs J. Clachan, briar rose georgette emboidered in crystal. r Miss K. Oliver, primrose ring velvet and georgette'. ( Miss A. Hewett (Cambridge), black ’ lace and georgette. Miss T. Monckton, lavender petall- ’ ed georgette, banded with pastel- | shaded taffeta. 1 Miss B. Manning, lime green taffeta | and gold embroidered lace. 1 Miss B. McNaughton (Morrinsville), leaf gre?n pel-ailed georgette. Miss C. Buckland, picture frock of cameo pink tulle and taffeta. Miss T. Gardner (Gisborne), lettuce green georgette and silver tissue. Miss J. Gardner (Gisborne), shell pink georgette, fringed with crystal. (Miss A. Bell, briar rose frilled silk net. Miss A. Nelson (Cambridge), black chiffon velvet. Miss M. Barber, cameo pink georgette. Miss R. Souter (Cambridge), rose georgette, embroidered in blue crystal. Miss D. Speight, periwinkle blue taffeta. Miss R. Johnstone, shell pink petalled georgette. Miss P. Hooper, primrose frilled charmeuse. Miss J. Pratt, hydrangea blue taffeta and tulle.
