WHAT TO DO. Keep a rubber plate-scraper for scraping out the last of the cake- mixture from the dish. It saves time and quite a lot 'Of the mixture. To simplify cleaning shoes in muddy weather, nail a pair of old shoebrushes on opposite sides inside a rather flat tin from which the ends have been removed, and fasten the tin on the outside of the doorstep. I have found a good remedy for constipation in the drinking of neat lemon .juice, freshly squeezed first thing in the morning. Then the skins arc left to soak in a glass of water all day, ready to drink before dinner. It has an excellent tonic and cleansing action. Heavy articles of furniture can he moved to another position quickly ond easily if pieces of malting or hessian are placed under them. Damage to lino, or polished floors will also be prevented. Rhubarb is much more easily peeled .if it is first soaked iu cold water.
