WRIT SET ASIDE
WILLIE SMITH’S CASE. (Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, Aug. 28. The write of cave issued against Mr Willie Smith, the English billiards champion, at the Instance of Mr Thos. Harrison, a journalist, in connection with an action in which £SOOO damages are claimed, has been set aside by Mr Justice Rogers, who declared that the bail bond of £5050 exceeded the amount legally permissible. The writ cave wms issued at the instance of Harrison, who averred that he was apprehensive that Smith would leave the jurisdiction of the Court before the action for damages came to trial.
