DAIRY SALE AT FRANKTON. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report: We held our usual weekly dairy sale at the Frankton saleyards yesterday, when a medium yarding of dairy cows and heifers were penned, and late rates maintained. Quotations: Jersey and Jersey cross cows, close to profit, £lO to £l2 10s; cows, later calvers, £5 10s, to £9; Shorthorn and Friesian. heifers, close to profit, £l2 to £l3; Jersey cross heifers, close to profit, £9 10s to £lO 15s; backward, to £8 10s. Messrs G. W. Vercoe and Co. Ltd. report .having held their weekly dairy sale at Frankton yards yesterday. A medium yarding came forward. Good quality close-up cows and heifers sold well, but the poor quality backward sorts were not in demand. We quote: Jersey cross heifers, close to profit, £ll 15s to £l2 10s; more backward, £9 10s to £ll 10s; backward sorts, £7 10s to £9 ss; good quality Jersey cross cows, close to profit, £l3 10s tc £l4; more backward, £9 15s to £11; Shorthorn cows, backward, £6 10s to £8 10s. HIKUTAIA STOCK SALIS. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report that at their Hikulaia sale a good yarding of dairy cattle came forward. There was also a good yarding of pigs, competition being keen. Beef sold readily at late rates.
