GUILTY OF THEFT
YOUNG MAN PLEADS GUILTY.
SUPPRESSION OF NAME REFUSED (By: Telefrraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., Saturday. In the Police Court, Henry Powerton Hartford, aged 24, pleaded guilt; to the theft of £2B, the property o! Combined Motor Services, and was admitted to probation for two years. An application for the suppression of his name was refused, the Magistrate stating that in his opinion the right of suppression should only be for juveniles. The publication of the name was part of the punishment particularly when probation was granted instead of imprisonment.
