"Yes, I know that,” rejoined the magistrate, “but what arc you?” “A witness, sir,” again returned the other. His Worship: “You are a witness, but what do you do?” "Oh, I’m a carpenter," answered the man amidst laughter, Ihe light of day dawning on him at last.
