NEW USE FOR OLD DAMASK
Many people who have inherited the contents of a well-stocked linen cupboard find plenty of use for everything except llie enormous damask tablecloths, which were so essentia), in Victorian households, but are too voluminous for most modern diningtables.
If these are dyed they can be most effective in a bedroom as bedspreads, or as curtains for the windows, or for a washsland or a set of shelves.
Damask is not the best kind of fabric for'the home dyer to experiment with; but when it has been properly and professionally dyed it retains its exquisite lights and shades and its capacity for returning from the laundry looking better than ever.
