FLIGHT TO INDIA
FEAT BY A DUCHESS. A FOUR DAYS’ TRIP. (Australian Press Association.) DELHI, August 6. The Duchess of Bedford, who started from Lympne, Kent, at dawn on Friday in an attempt to fly to India and back in a week in the Fokker monoplane Spider accomplished' the outward journey in four days. She was accompanied by Captain G. D. Barnard and Air. Bob Little.
On the arrival of the party this morning at Karachi the Duchess said it had been a wonderful trip. The only unpleasant stage was between Bush'iro and Karachi, where sandstorms were encountered. The Duchess, who took turns with Captain Barnard in piloting the monoplane, stayed at Government House as the guest of Sir Frederick Sykes, Governor of Bombay. The flyers are planning to commence the return journey to-day.
