The retirement of Chief Constable Wensley, 0.8. E., from the head of the Criminal Investigation Department of Scotland Yards, ends the the career of the man whom Sir Richard Muir described as the “ greatest detective of all time." Immediately his retirement was announced, the Chicago police authorities cabled offering Air Wensley a post in an advisory capacity with a view to strenuous efforts to clear Chicago of gangs of murderers and thieves.
