SOUTH AUCKLAND PLAY
A WIN FOR HAMILTON. TAUPIRI BEATEN BY 15 TO 3. On Saturday afternoon the Hamilton senior League team journeyed to Taupiri to try conclusions with the local team in conditions that were very much against a good exhibition of the code. The ground was in a very bad state and after a few minutes’ play the playing area was reduced to a quagmire of slush. The Hamilton forwards revelled in the mud and gave the Taupiri backs very little chance of handling the ball. Hogan played a great game for the visitors, and was instrumental in making the way for two of Hamilton's scores. South also played well. For Hamilton tries were scored by South (2) and C. Vernal, S. Muir converting all three. Farrell obtained the home team's score, no goal resulting, the .final tallies being: Hamilton 15 Taupiri 3 Mr 11. Childs was referee. GAMES IN AUCKLAND. Senior.
