William Heughan Returning. With a record tour completed and a second tour well advanced, William Heughan, the actor-singer, with his associate artists, Maud Bell (’cellist) and Gladys Sayer (pianist), will return to Hamilton for two concerts in the Theatre Royal on July 17 and 18. Musical Moments. Offenbach’s “Tales of Hoffman” was performed by the Wellington Orpheus Musical Society this week, under the baton of Mr llurison Cook. Mr Hubert Carter (tenor), of Wanganui amt Mr Harold Ackroyd (baritone), of llawera, will be soloists for the Napier Choral Society’s performance of “Hiawatha” next month.

Paderewski, the pianist, has been given the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour by the French Government in token of his work for French war charities.
