EPIDEMIC OF BURGLARIEB. UNEASINESS AT LOWER HUTT(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. Following the epidemic of burglaries at Lower Hutt, with two more last night from business premises, the heads of several prominent firms, interviewed this morning, expressed the view in very strong terms that the lime had arrived when the needs of the town demanded a nightly police patrol. The population is 12,000 in the borough alone, and the police district extends far outside. The force is one sergeant and two constables.
