TE KAWA.
The Glee Club. The Glee Club has resumed its practices under the baton of Mr H. C. Mutton, and excellent progress is being made. There is a larger attendance this year than formerly, and all arc enthusiastic over their work. The Railway Station. A much-needed telephone will shortly be installed at the Tc Kawa railway station. Other improvements are desired by the settlers who do business at the railway station, and a deputation interviewed the District Trade Superintendent and the District Engineer, of Railways. Te Kawa railway business has grown materially in recent years, and the same rate of progress will soon warrant Tc Kawa being made an odeer station. The School. Improvements to the Te Kawa West school, in the form of new fences find a concrete playing area, are greatly appreciated by teacher, children and parents.' During the winter the children are being supplied with hot cocoa fur luncheon. Sickness. Colds are prevalent in the district, the attendance at both schools suffering to a certain extent.
