FRANKTON PARISH.
ELECTION OF BYNODBMEN. DECLARED NULL AND VOID. As a result of a protest lodged at the recent meeting of the Standing Committee of Waikato Diocese, by Mr L. B. Gilflllan, the election of two representatives 'to Synod from St. George’s Parish, Frankton, has been upset. Another election will be necessary. At the election in April Messrs B. C. Lowry, L. B. Gilflllan, sitting synodsmen, and Mr W. F. Kent-John-ston were the candidates. Before the election Mr Gilflllan protested against Mr Kent-Johnston’s nomination on the grounds that Mr Kent-Johnston lived outside tire boundaries of St. George’s parish and had not signed the necessary forms regarding his status as a parishioner in relation to his place of residence.' The election was N proceeded with and Messrs Lowry and Kent-John-ston were returned by substantial majorities. Standing Committee, at its recent meeting, upheld Mr’Gilflllan’s protest and the election was declared null and void. H is stated that Mr Kent-Johnston, having complied with the required formalities, will now’ be eligible l'or election.
