BOARD’S ANNUAL. MEETING* IMPORTANT BUSINESS. The annual meeting of the Cambridge Domain Board was held on Thursday. Those present were Messrs A. W. Cane, J. Hooker, and C. H. Priestly, and the secretary (Mr Walter Stopford). Mr S. Lewis was reappointed chairman for the ensuing year, and Mr G. M. Watt deputychairman. In the absence of both these gentlemen, Mr A. W. Gane occupied the chair. The secretary submitted the bal-ance-sheet for the year ended March 31, which showed an overdraft at the bank of £231 18s sd. Outstanding rents amounted to £B3 19s sd.—■ The balance-sheet -was adopted, subject to audit. Tlie chairman welcomed Mr C. H. Priestly to the board. Mr Priestly becomes a member by virtue of ihs position as Mayor. Mr Priestly thanked the chairman for his remarks. Ordinary Meeting. The business of the ordinary meeting was then taken. Mr Priestly referred to the very large sum expended on seeds last year, viz., £6O. The secretary stated that this matter had been commented on at last meeting, and a sub-commit-tee was set up to inquire into the matter, but so far he had received no report. An amount of £l2 had been expended on bulbs, and when they arrived it was found that they were in powder. He had taken steps to make a claim on the, merchant. It was resolved that in future all requirements of the caretaker shall be requisitioned for to the office of the board.

The secretary reported that in regard to the children’s chute erected in the domain, the Cambridge business men, who had supplied the money for the same, requested that a brass plate with suitable inscription be placed thereon. —It was resolved lo have the plate affixed. The secretary of the bowling club wailed on the board, asking for additional ground to extend the soil shed, also for the removal of a hedge.—lt was resolved that Messrs A. Gane and J. Hooker be appointed to meet the bowling club committee on the ground on Saturday.
