NEXT FESTIVAL. • TO COMMENCE OCTOBER '7. j A well-attended meeting of the executive of the Cambridge Competitions Society was held at Cambridge on Tuesday night, when the president (Mr H. L. Possenniskie) was in the chair. Appointment’of Judges. * * Arter . consideration. of correspondence received, the meeting unanimously appointed Dr. Jarman, of Launcostw., Tasmania, adjudicator in the- sections for vocal and ins,lru r mental music. Dr. Jarman has an Australasian .reputation as a musical judge, and the Society are exceedingly fortunate in securing his services. The appointment of a Judge for the elocutionary section was discussed, ' the matter of finalising matters in this ‘ connection being left with a small •sub-committee. , it was resolved that the Gornpeti’tipns commence on Monday, October ■' 7’ a nd ; extend over, the usual period. Reports' of sub-committees, set-up ’’ to revise. the schedule were received and adopted with slight amendment. - Accompanist. Mr Alf. G. Boyce was appointed offor the Festival.
