CENTRAL SCHOOL SITE.

(To the Editor.) Sir,—l am very glad the principal of the Technical School has replied tc those who resent the proposal to hand over to his school the site of the present West School. The of the arguments put forward by West School representatives was very evident, but it would have been difficult to dispose of lliem as effectively as Mi Fraser has done. The only suggestion that seemed at all reasonable for giving the Technical School pupils playgrounds in proportion to their large numbers was that the whole institution should be moved to a site somewhere in Hamilton East. As Mr Fraser points out, the Technical School is the one above all others that needs a central site on account of the large number of students coming from the country, and because of its use as a night school. As the town grows, many of the evening students will stav in town for evening meal after their daily work- It will be a great advantage to them to have the school handy. I think most cities aim to have their technical schools in a central position. As to finding a suitable site for the West School—surely the education and health authorities can be trusted to reject the Palmerston Estate site ii it is not suitable and in any case to obtain an appropriate site somewhere. —I am, etc., F AIRPLAY.
