WINTER MEETING EVENTS. THE FIRST DAY TO-MORROW. WAIKATO HORSES IN THE FIELDS. The Winter meeting of the Wanganui Jockey Club, which will open to-morrow, will be concluded on Saturday. Good fields have met the acceptance for opening day, Roman Abbey, Ripon Abbey, Gala Day, Cybele and Value, being horses from Waikato stables who will be seen in action. As there are several llat gallopers and jumping candidates listed for the coming fixture who have engagements at the Great Northern meeting, the racing at Wanganui will be followed with more than average interest.
