DESTRUCTIVE FIRES.
OUTBREAK AT HASTINGS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HASTINGS, Wednesday. A four-roomed house, occupied by Mr Stephen Ryan and owned by the Public Trust, situated just outside the borough, was completely destroyed by fire last night. The occupier is a heavy loser. The insurances were: On the house, £350 in the Guardian Office; on the furniture, £IOO in the British Office. The cause of the fire is unknown.
SHEDS AT KEREONE BURNED. FARMER’S HEAVY LOSS. The milking shed and the manure shed owned by Mr H. A. Munro. of Kereone, caught fire on Monday evening and within an hour were completeiy gutted. The contents of the milking shed, 'ncluding the plant and motor, were destroyed and as they were not insured the loss is a heavy one to Mr Munro. The milking shed was insured.
