FIRE IN CHURCH

DISCOVERED JUST IN TIME.

CAMBRIDGE, Wednesday.

Yesterday afternoon a deliberate attempt was made to set fire to Trinity Presbyterian Church. About 3.30 the caretaker went to the church, and saw smoke Issuing from a side window.

A side door which was usually open, was barricaded. The caretaker burst the door in, and found a pile of paper on top of the doormat afire. A large hole had beon burnt In the floor olose along'* side the organ. Had It not been observed at the time a serious fire must have oocurred.

All the evidence suggests that It was a deliberate attempt on the part of some adult person.
