LATE PICTURES

(To the Editor.) Sir, —I desire to offer a protest against the very late hours the Hamilton picture shows come out. Is it fair that picture proprietors should be allowed to detain their patrons after 10 p.m.? It does seem strange that the public have not had something to say on this subject before. Take supper rooms, for instance; they keep open nightly, and what for? To cater for the needs of the public. The pictures, however, come out after the staff has left, as the award docs not permit waitresses to be detained after 10.30 p.m. Therefore the public are the sufferers, as they are not able to obtain refreshments on leaving the pictures. I would also like to mention that bus and taxi-drivers are kept waiting about for an Indefinite period just for want of a little rearrangement of the picture programmes.—l am, etc., . SUFFERER.
