THE CATHEDRAL CHAPTER.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —To-morrow night the parishioners of St. Peter’s meet to elect a Cathedral Chapter and it i 3 to be hoped that all who are sincere in their desire for the Church’s welfare will seriously consider whether it will be better to elect a Chapter to work loyally with the Bishop, or a Chapter with a definite and publicly-declared policy of opposition to him, thereby Introducing the hydra-tainted spirit of party into a body whose members ought to co-ordinate one with another. What Is the use of. kicking against the pricks and wrecking the Parish, when His Lordship’s position Is impregnable? Hls opponents failed to' produce a single substantial reason to Justify their general statement of want of confidence in him, so It seems to be rank folly to allow thorn to keep alive the present dissension by electing their nominees.—l am, etc., JOHN W. WARREN.
