THE CATHOLIC MISSION.

ADDRESS ON MODERN EVILS. DANGERS OF THE DAY. There was again a crowded congregation at the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary last evening, when a powerful sermon on the dangerous occasions of sin was delivered by Father Duggan, Redemptorist Missioner. Taking for his text “Flee ye from the midst of Babylon,” the missioner pointed out that the Prophet Jeremiah, seeing in vision the destruction that was about to befall wicked Babylon and its inhabitants, uttered the words of warning contained in this text, and as the Prophet had predicted, so did it happen —Babylon's enemies came, hemmed it in on every side, laid seige to it, and only those who had taken the Prophet's warning to heart and sought safety in flight were saved. But there were, said the preacher, dangers threatening them greater far than those of Babylon. lie warned them against the evils of idolatory, intemperance, and lust. The address was listened to very attentively, and made a deep impres- ' sion. To-night Father Cahill will take for his subject, “Married Life —how prepared for, and how lived."
