AT FRANKTON YARDS. HIGH PRICES FOR PIGS. There was a bigger yarding of beef than usual and prices were about on a par with last weeks’ rates.- Pigs w-ere yarded in large numbers and realised very good prices. There was an average yarding of sheep, which sold at late rates. Bidding was brisk and the attendance was large. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., quote: Good fat bullocks, £ll 2s 6d to £l2 17s- Gd; fat bullocks, £lO 12s Gd to £lO 17s 6d; fat cows, £lO to £ll 10s; ordinarv fat cows, £7 to £8 ss; fat wethers to 34s 9d; fat ewes to 30s Gd; fat lambs, to 31s; heavy baconers, £3 11s to £3 16s; heavy porkers, £2 5s to £2 12s. Messrs G. W. Vercoe and Co., quote: Fat bullocks, £lO 12s Gd to £ll ss; fat cows, £7 10s to £lO ss; lighter £5 to £6 17s Gd; runners, to £4; heavy baconers, £3 5s to £3 17s; heavy porkers, £2 9s to £3 4s.
