They have attacked and looted the Asiatic Petroleum Company’s installation and also the foreign mission at Changteh.

(Received April 16, 8.45 a.m.) HONGKONG, April 15. The story of the exploit of the British gunboat Tern in the upper reaches of the Yangtsze, is told by a naval wireless message to-day. It appears- that owing to heavy fighting 12 miles above Ichang, shipping in the upper reaches of the river was unable to move. The Tern proceeded up the river to effect a release, running the gauntlet of a heavy fire. . Three ratings were wounded. However, the object was achieved and the Tern returned safely with tha vessels. , ’
